Never in the history of golf has anyone been able to explain what it is about this incredibly complicated, yet intrinsically simple game. Hit a ball into a hole. Right?

It's so much more than that! Like the quote states -
"Golf is life.
If you can't take golf, you can't take life."
My favorite time on the golf course is early on a summer morning. Picture it with me. The sun is just rising, casting soft orange and pink along the horizon. The air is crisp and the grass is slightly damp with dew. Except for the occasional whack of a driver hitting a ball, there is complete silence.
And it's during that silence, while surrounded by that beauty, that I let my mind go. The golf course is a great time to think about life and to just be. I love the game and all that it represents. It brings me peace and settles my mind.
So where does the history of golf fit in?
Well, in an effort to better understand the game, I want to learn all that I can about the game. And, since I can't find an existing source for a comprehensive history, it is my hope to create one.
